What Causes Urinary Incontinence While On Lasix?

Hey, I m Klein. I am currently taking lasik 20 mgs. My problem is that taking LASIK is so strong that I urinate all morning til about 1:00 P.M. every 20 mins. to 30 mins. If I leave the house I will urinate a small amount in my underwear. It happens all the time so I quit for now. I see my Dr. next week. What can I do with this problem. I told her about this problem before but, she wants to keep me on this med. My urologis has me on a urine pill for my prostate being slightly enlarged. These two combined is too much. Can you help?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

Lasix is a diuretic and that is the reason for excessive urination. Since you have not provided details.on why Lasix was prescribed to you, I cannot provide guidance on whether Lasix can be switched to another medication. You will have to follow up.with your treating physician. Please do not discontinue Lasix on your own as benefits outweigh risk. Meanwhile, you can plan visits yo the bathroom before actually having the urge to urinate.

Regards
Dr.Lekshmi
