What Causes Urinary Incontinence While On Sertraline And Risperidone?

My husband has been on sertraline, risperidone and donepezil since June. He is gradually having more and more problems with incontinence, both urine and bowels. At first it was only urine and at night. His doctor thought he was sleeping too soundly to get to the bathroom on time and recommended Depends. Some days he is fine and others he goes to the bathroom before he even knows what is happening. He sometimes doesn t feel the urge to go. Are any of these meds connected with a side effect like this?

The said medicine may cause many problems however frank incontinence should not be a side effects of any of the drug . What I can understand is that if he is using Donepezil for dementia , incontinence may be a more advanced stage of dementia. However this is only one possibility. I would advise you should take him to doc to assess him in more details. This should not happen with the mentioned drugs.
