What Causes Urinary Incontinence While Suffering With Vertebral Pain?
I had a multi vertebrae fusion and implementation one year ago. L3-4-5. I have two titanium rods and 6 spacers to separate the vertebrae. I also had a cyst on my spinal cord that was a result of no space for the fluid to sit. I have been in worsening pain over the past 10 days. I am not yet having the numbness (that led to unexpected temporary paralysis last year) but I am having frequent urination and cannot stand up or bend over, without some leakage. This combined with intense pain on the right side of my vertebrae has me concerned. I don t know whether I should let this continue to see if it is due to overuse, or if there is another issue. I promised all of my loved ones - no more surgery for the next year.
The urinary incontinence with vertebral pain narrate possible issue with pelvic splanchnic nerves controlling the urination via neuronal pathways. An MRI is need of time to evaluate the cause and treat accordingly. Till the time, you can get a urine culture report done to look for the infection and drug susceptibility modality with your primary care.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
