What Causes Urinary Tract Infection And Sore Gland In Groin Region?
I have a urinary track infection, I believe, with light pink blood. I also have a sore gland & through(same side). Could this be connected in any way? also, I have hypo thyroid disease & have heard that it isnt good to get infections with thyroid disease. Any truth to that?
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Gland enlargement in groin (lymph node) indicates infection having spread to the area. 2. If you have associated urinary tract infection, there could be other infection presence too, possibly in legs. Get a urine culture and sensitivity tests to get treated appropriately. For lymphnode enlargement, if it does not disappear during the course of UTI treatment, a FNAC will be necessary to identify the cause of enlargement. 3. Hypothyroidism reduces immunity and hence complications become more frequent. Meet your doctor to start you on thyroxine and appropriate antibiotics. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
