What Causes Urine To Be Dark Brown?

My fiance is a 34 year old male and has been to the ER 3 times in the past few weeks. He has kidney stones. However, he is continuing to pass blood in his urine and lots of blood in his stools . He continually has left flank pain down into his groin, and vomits very frequently. The pain gets worse then a little less for a few days but, the vomiting never lets up. Today he s been in a great deal of pain and his urine is very dark brown. Is this another kidney stone or something else?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms you are describing are those of kidney stones. Yet an ultrasound of kidneys should be done to check for it. The definitive treatment consists of nephrolythiasis or breaking of kidney stones. Having lots of fluids and water is advisable.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
