What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After A Colonoscopy?

I am 53 & had a colonoscopy a week ago, on the morning of 3/27, where my doc removed 1 unsuspcious polyp. Shortly after started light vaginal bleeding which continues today. prior to last week it had been over a year since my last cycle. I m experiencing mild lower abdominal pain. Can these be connected? any reason for concern? thanks.

Hello,

There are no direct concerns with colonoscopy and vaginal bleed. First of all you have to confirm that it was not from anus.

Then if its from vagina, consult your OBGY and get pap smear or so forth as it may be post menopausal suspicious bleed from endometrial hyperplasia or else.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
