What Causes Vaginal Bleeding While Suffering From Diverticulosis?

I have diverticulosis and am experienced vaginal bleeding with pus and mucus. There was a slight pinching around the area and difficult to pee. I ve been to a gynecologist who couldn t find anything but did a pap test. The bleeding has started again with some pain.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you need to get CT pelvis with contrast and urgent review by a surgeon to rule out vaginorectal fistula which is abnormal connection between gut and vaginal tract and may lead to such symptoms. Meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen may also help. Antibiotics like ciprofloxacin may also be needed. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
