What Causes Vaginal Pain And Discharge After Intercourse?
I recently started having sex again. I haven't had it for twenty years. I have only been with one partner and we have had sex five times since February. The last time was just this Monday. I started having a discharge on Tuesday and a slight pain in my pelvic area.
I am sorry to hear about your problem and will like to solve it with the best of my knowledge...
As per the symptoms that you explained discharge from the vagina along with mild pain in pelvic area can be due to causes like: -Bacterial infection or Bacterial Vaginosis. -Fungal infection or Vaginal Thrush. -Trichomonas infection. -Gonorrhea etc..
You should consult a Gynaecologist and get evaluated and she can do a clinical evaluation and also advise a vaginal swab culture to confirm the diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
-As of now keep the area clean and dry. -Avoid sexual intercourse. -To prevent soiling of your panties if the discharge is a little too much you can put panty liners.. -Change the panties daily and if possible 2 to 3 times a day..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
