What Causes Vaginal Spotting And Frequent Urge To Urinate While On Birth Control Pill?
I have tingling randomly in lower abdomen that almost feels like I have an urge to urinate but doesn t last. Feels like it runs down the left side of my belly button. I have no problems urinating. I have started taking birth control a little over a month ago and do have spotting. I also have been lifting heavy weights at the gym which has been different than my normal routine.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. * Spotting in between in early days of taking oral contraceptives is common symptom with Progesteron only oral contraceptives ( where you have to continue the pills as advised in spite of spotting / It can be seen in two hormone contraceptives.. if intake of pills is irregular.-- where regular consumption of pills at same time of day without break is advised. * Tingling along left side of belly button casing an urge to urinate is not likely to be a side effect of oral contraceptive, As you don't have urine problem.. it seems to be due to pressed/ pinched/ kinked nerve supplying the part. You need to consult a spinal orthopedic doctor for it' s management. thanks.
