What Causes Vaginal Spotting With Clots Post Menstruation?

Good day,i had unprotected sex sixteen days ago after which i got my period two days after,six days after my period ended I ve noticed a bloody discharge with traces if clots,two days after I ve noticed the spotting i had an slight yet moderate pain in in my left kower quadrants now am still spotting have schedule an appointment to do an pap smear but i would like to have an idea what could possibly be wrong.?
