What Causes Violent Shaking, Excessive Sweating, Diarrhea And Fever?

Came home last night to my husband who all the sudden became ill. He was shaky and sweating with fever at 105.4. 2 hours later and after a cold towel, and ibuprofen it dropped to 102 and has been there the last 16 hours. His only symptoms: tired, cold sweats, fever ranging 102 no matter what we do and now recently diarrhea.

OB and GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

He should take paracetamol every 4 hourly if he experiences high grade fever (>100) and if it will be less then 100 then 6 hourly.

Apart from this, I suggest you do his blood investigations like CBC, Widal test, Malaria, Dengue and Cholera to evaluate the main cause of fever and to start the treatment accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
