What Causes Viral And Bacterial Infection, Sore Back And Rapid Declin?

, my mother is 88 yrs old. she was admitted to hospital 7wks ago after a fall. no apparent injuries.caught v. and d. bug.recovered from bug, but since then her very poor mobility as gone to zero, she as pressure sore on her lower back, she cannot even hold a cup, all this seems to have happened very quickly, she seems in a state of lethargy and as gone on such a rapid decline, staff at the hospital always seem too busy to answer questions, other than to tell us she needs to go to a nursing home, which she hates the idea of, we are more worried about her general health and feel she needs hospital care.

Post infection metabolic imbalance is common and esp at this age. Could be because of low Sodium levels in her body that she feels lethargic, backed out and slowed. It could also be persistent and recurrent use of antibiotics having cns side effects like parkisinsonism. All in all, her decline in health after hospital stay, asks you to admit her again and get her electrolytes n some other metabolites tested.
