What Causes Vomiting And Body Imbalance?

I had the head flu in Feb. that started with vomiting and loosing my balance to point of having to drag myself from the stool to the bed. My balance is still off. I went to my family practice MD and was taken off clonazepam I was taking for tinnitus and put on mecclizine 25 mg every 6 hours to try to help what my Dr. called dizzy and I call loosing my balance, and now my vision is bad. I am to call him when he gets back from vacation this Thursday. Vision being bad is worse than off balance, because I can t drive or read. What do you suggest?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

The vision problems with vertigo are may be due to:

1. Migraine
2. Acute labyrinthitis
3. BPPV (Benign paroxysmal position)
4. Stroke etcetera

Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Continue taking the above medications. If symptoms not improved, then please consult your neuro physician so that he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
