What Causes Vomiting And Numbness In Right Leg While On Lisinopril For High BP?

My Dad is 71 and has had prostate cancer. He had it removed 6 years ago, but needs shots when his psa is above 0. He is on lisiniprol for high blood pressure and is throwing it up every evening. He is complaining of numbness in his right leg from knee cap down he says it is numb and his feet get really ice cold when he lays down. Any recommendations?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The intake of Lisinopril is usually not associated with isolated numbness of one lower limb. Though vomiting can be part of drug induced gastritis if the drug is started in recent past. For the numbness purpose, a neurologic reason as compression of nerve at spinal lumbar region or knee problems might be pausing big threat and the same has to be evaluated with expert ortho surgeon. After ruling out diabetes first. The vomiting can be combated with intake of anti emetic as ondancetron with omeprazole on empty stomach with sips of water.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
