What Causes Vomiting Blood After Drinking Alcohol?

I threw up blood and i don't have any health insurance.. I am very poor and don't know what to do. I drank a lot of alcohol over a long period of time though i stopped after i threw up the blood. Can I ever drink again? I'm 25, 6'2" and 150 lbs if that helps. I have no history of liver problems.

Blood in vomiting due to alcohol intake can be caused by following:

Sometime when binge drinking done(lots of alcohol at a time), it can cause irritation of stomach mucosa and cause slight bleeding during vomiting.

If someone is regular dinker, alcohol cause damage to oesophagus(food pipe) and stomach mucosa damage.Gradually ulcer developes in stomach and also oesophagal varices(abnormal, enlarged veins in the lower part of the esophagus ).In both sites when irritation occurs due to food or alcohol veins damage and blood in vomiting comes.

One reason is portal hypertension due to liver damage which also can cause blood in vomiting.

You do not have describe your history of quantity of intake.Bur you are only 25 and I suggest please keep your self away from alcohol until possible. As in this young age you have already suffered, in long run it can worsen your health more.

Wait up to 30 and I guess after that you can do social drinking.If you continue drinking at this juncture, chances of dependence and addiction more.
