What Causes Vomiting Blood In A Patient With Gluten Intolerance?
My child is 10. He is coeliac/gluten intolerant. Both himself and his sister have had stomach ache this week. She is better. He was kind of hallucinating the night before last. His body was v hot but he felt cold. He ate his dinner yesterday no problem. In the last half hour he is throwing up. There are blood speckles / blobs of old looking blood in his a omits. Is this a cause for concern?
He must be vomiting because of intolerance of gluten .Few specs of blood may come in vomitus due to retching and there is nothing to worry however you need to be careful of the intolerance he is having to avoid future episodes. You can give him some antacids for reducing the acidity of his stomach.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
