What Causes Vomiting, Diarrhea And Tremors In An Elderly Person?

Friend of mine, age 82, has attacks often 1 hour after eating anything. She feels very faint, has to lie down or really collapses with vomiting, diarrhea, shaking as in weakness. About an hour later she is stable, can get up, and feels much better. She recently had her gall bladder removed (stones), recent tests show anemia, a shadow on her lung, and a liver inflammation. She was recently at the ER 2x to be stabilized after vomiting, weakness, etc. So far no doctor know what is causing this condition. She s had an array of tests. Nothing indicates a single systemic cause. She had a heart attack about 3 years ago.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Weakness is due to anemia. Needs injectable iron (will not tolerate oral) or blood. Should take small frequent bland meals as gall bladder is not available for digestion of heavy fatty meals. Get a ultrasound and CBC done. Nausea, vomiting must be due to abdominal infection. Take Omez-D once daily empty stomach. Tremors must be age related.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ajeet Singh,
