What Causes Vomiting In A Child Even After Taking Lanzol Medicine?
My 2.6 month daughter doing vomiting since day before yesterday. Doctor given the medicine junior lanzol and ondansetron. She is not eating at all. Drinking water. In morning have tea. But now when I gave her junior lanzol and try to feed her with small bit of chapati again she vomited. Please advice
Your child is having gastroesophageal reflux and thus irritation and vomiting. Please avoid tea and coffee and other beverages as they increase gastric irritation. You can give ondansetron to the child at least 20 mins before you feed her. Causes of her vomiting could be GERD.
Gastric or stomach infection viral, bacterial or parasitic, food poisoning, and food allergies. Lanzol junior can be given twice daily before food and Ondansetron without fail must be given 20 mins prior to every meal. Bland food is preferred. Have no beverages no coffee, and no tea. Take home made healthy food. If vomiting doesn't subside even after 3-4 days, you need to consult a pediatrician.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
