What Causes Weight Loss In An Elderly Person With IBS?
My mom has been to so many doctors treating her for bowel syndrome diarrhea ....she is losing so much weight and is down to 89 lbs..she hardly eats and no longer travels...I recommended her to go to Medical University in Charleston ,SC but she continues listening to these doctors and taking med that are not helping....I need help for her,
So your issue is with the weight loss? If that is the case, then educate yourself on the trigger foods for IBS and stop your mother from having all of them. Medications like mebeverine and chlordiazepoxide can be used for about 3 months time, and then discontinued.
But if this also doesn't help her, then may be surgery should be considered.
Best wishes.
