Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, For the past couple of weeks I have been waking up wheezing at night, then I started getting a cough. The last couple of days, its like someone is taking a belt and tightening it below my breasts. I press around and it feels really tight. I can t lay down at night, I start coughing, I am sitting right now and feel the pressure, and feel like I am not getting enough air. Everything is tight.
Wheezing is a common sign of narrowing of airways in your lungs. Please get yourself evaluated for asthma. It also could be due to some allergy to any particular allergen however it appears to be more like asthma. In the meantime, you can use a bronchodilator like Asthalin when your wheezing starts. You can take 2 puffs as and when required however your must get yourself evaluated first before self medicating.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
