What Causes White Spot On The Uvula With Severe Pain?

I have a white spot on my uvula. I have a lot of pain when swallowing any type of food or drink. I went to my dr. on Thursday and had a strep test - negative. BUT, on Thursday the white spot was not there. What can I do? Should I go back to the dr. to find out about this. Very painful. Thank you!

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, thanks for your query.
In my opinion, you might be having infection of the uvula or oral thrush.
Since it is very painful, it is more likely infection.
May not be by strep ,can be other bacteria.
I'd I were your treating doctor, I would have prescribed penicillin antibiotics + anti inflammatory medicines like paracetamol + diclofenac combination drugs, for 5 to 7 days.
Betadine mouth gargling also can be done.
Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
