What Causes White Spots On Roof Of Mouth And Throat Along With Swollen Uvula?

I have white spots on the roof of my mouth and back of my throat. When I swallow it feels like I am swallowing glass and my throat is constantly burning or very uncomfortable. I am a smoker and I m worried this is a sign of throat cancer because this happens often. Also, my uvula is swollen which also happens frequently. Could this be throat cancer?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that white spots on roof of mouth and back of throat along with difficulty in swallowing and swollen uvula seems to be most probably due to throat infection that seems to be bacterial as pus pockets that can be those white spots seems to be most probably during bacterial infection..
It seems more to be throat infection and less probable chances that it can be cancer so do not worry about it..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a throat swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

In case if it is due to infection then you can be advised a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen can help..
You can gargle with warm saline solution..
You can chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..
Suck throat lozenges
You can avoid spicy and hard foods and take a soft bland diet with plenty of fluids..
