What Causes Worsening Pain Due To Osteoarthritis And Carpel Tunnel?

I have existing joint pain in both of my legs and have been diagnosed with wear and tear on my knees which is osteoarthritis. This pain has got increasingly worse and my right knee has now swollen up significantly and I have open sores on the back of my right knee. I also have carpal tunnel syndrome/RSI in both my hands, arms and wrists which has now increased in pain. The last specialist I saw has recommended I see a rheumatologist to see why my pain is worsening and has mentioned that it could possibly either by fibromyalgia or rheumatoid arthritis. Could you possibly give me some advice.
