What Causes Yellow Crystal Like Formation On The Scalp In A Chicken Pox Patient?
hello Im John, I have chicken pox right now and Im taking acyclovir 800mg for treatment of chicken pox. I have this yellow crystal like formation on my scalp on the opening of my nose and on my ears I really dont know what it is since its not on the signs and symptoms of chicken pox please help me thanks

Secondary bacterial infection is the most common complication of chicken pox lesions. I am afraid that is what seems have happened in your case too. If I was the treating doctor I would have suggested you to take an oral antibiotic for the secondary bacterial infection, in addition to the oral antiviral that you are already on. My choice of oral antibiotic would have been from a penicillin group e.g Amoxycillin OR Cefadroxil for a week.
An OTC antibacterial e.g mupirocin 2% ointment can also be applied at the site of bacterial superinfection.
