What Causes Yellowish Red Spot On The Arm And The Leg While Treating Hypothyroidism?
My age is 34.I have hypothyroid and my TSH level is 10 that caught in last month. Doctor prescribed me thyronorm 25 mcg. I am taking this medicine since one month. On skin small yellow-reddish spot (one on left arm & one on right leg) appear since 1-2 month. Arm spot slowly disappearing also. I feel headaches some time. My queries: Is these skin changes and headaches also related with hypothyroid ? Thyronorm 25 mcg is sufficient to balance my TSH level and how I can cure my hypothyroid.?
1. The skin problem described by is unlikely to be related to Thyroid Disorders.
2. Thyroid disorders can cause headache, but, that is rare.
3. 25 mcg may have been prescribed to you depending on your hormone levels. but, that may not be a lifelong dose. Depending on response and regular follow up of Thyroid Function Tests the dose may be increased or decreased.
4. Hypothyroidism is caused due to many causes, most commonly Autoimmune which may need a lifelong continuation of Thyronorm.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
