What Causes Yellowish Urine While On Advil For Pericarditis?
I am suffering from pericarditis and now have pericardital effusion. I am taking 600 mg. Advil 3 times a day. I feel fine. My urine is pretty yellow. How much water should I be drinking a day....I am at 5 10 218lbs. Athletic build. I am seeing my Cardiologist in the morning for another echo-cardiogram with hopes the fluid around my heart has stabilized or shrunk. Please help if you can...Thanks Michael
Dark yellow or concentrated urine can occur due to dehydration or medications. Any history of burning micturition or blood in urine should be ruled out which can denote urinary tract infection. Generally, I would suggest plenty of oral fluids to reduce dehydration. But is essential to rule out any kidney dysfunction. Renal function test including blood urea and serum creatinine should be done. Cardiac function should also be assessed.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
