I had a needle inserted to gather three samples to check an abnormal node in my thyroid and they state it didn t rule out neoplasm. Going to another doctor monday to see if a further biopsy needs to be done. If the node is not normal should I be worried it is cancer. If it is neoplasm can it just be taken out and the cancer will be gone? Just nervous I guess.
Hi dear first of all don't jump directly on the conclusion of neoplasm, there are many benign conditions which comes under the label abnormal, i will recommend you a USG(ultrasound) guided FNAC ( Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology ) examination for precise localization and diagnosis of the thyroid lesion. All the best.
