What Could Be The Cause For The Swollen Lymph Nodes Behind The Ear And Are There Any Tests To Determine The Cause?
My wife seems to have developed swollen lymph nodes behind the ear. The swelling is large enough that her glasses are causing some pain to wear. She does not have a cold and has no other symptoms. We are going to tomorrow to have her glasses adjusted but I am worried as to why the lymph nodes are swollen. This has only been for about 10 days at the most.
Is there some test to determine cause. What does she tell her Family doctor/ What tests should be scheduled?

What Could Be The Cause For The Swollen Lymph Nodes Behind The Ear And Are There Any Tests To Determine The Cause?
Hello Welcome in H.C.M. I have gone through your query regarding enlarged lymph nodes behind the ears of your wife for last 10 days. As you said that these lumps are giving problem in wearing glasses as swelling is big in size. I would like to say the possibility is of- 1- Any Infection of scalp is giving this lymphadenitis. 2- It may be part of generalize lymphadenopathy. Since there is no other symptoms of ear disease etc so other possibility is there other than above two. To confirm it you may go for FNAC from lump. Depending on the result of FNAC treatment may be planed. Regards.
