What Could Be The Cause Of Chronic Bilateral Hip Pain ?

Hip pain I am 38. I have had constant but varying degrees of bilateral hip pain. It started at age 24. I have had 3 steroid shots into the bursae, with relief that lasted maybe 6 months but only after the 3rd injection . Does bursitis last this long? Is it a lifetime chronic thing....or could it be something more serious? It is in the true hip region, over the greater trocanter and comes around slightly to the front of my upper thigh. Wakes my up every night. Everytime I sit or lay down its worse, very stiff & hard to get moving when I get up. Please help! Stacey

Hi welcome to H.C.M.Forum. it is recurring, and, both sides means it could be over weight problem. if it is not there, could be arthritis.if use of potato, and other tubers, tomato, cauliflower, and coconut, are restricted in diet, pain threshold will be decreesed. in addition neuro tropic injections and antibiotics and antiinflamatories may help you.there is possibility of T.B of hip joint but 2 sides is not commen. best of luck.
