What Could Be The Cause Of Getting Cough Attacks Throughout The Day ?

Hello, for the past 6+ moths I ve been getting cough attacks...I don t have a break and it last almost a whole day. Next day I m fine and it repeats almost every other day. I had pneumonia 2 years ago, not sure if that has anything to do with it. I went to the ear nose and throat dr. and they could not find anything.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
Given your picture, it looks like an allergy or probably gastroesophageal reflux disease.
If you have other symptoms like burning pain in the chest, reflux of food, then an endoscopy of the upper gastrointestinal tract (Upper GI endoscopy) can help rule this out.Whether this is related to your pneumonial or not will depend on whether the pneumonia caused a condition called bronchiectasis. This can be diagnosed using a CT scan.
Additionally, we should also consider an allergy. The allergen can frequently not be identified. However, staying away from dust; keeping your house scrupulously clean; avoiding sea food and trying to identify what could be the cause.
Some medications like ACE inhibitors can also cause cough on a long standing basis. If you have been taking any of these, then you would need to speak with your physician.
Fourthly, we need to consider the possibility of tuberculosis. If you have symptoms like low grade fever, weight loss or loss of appetite, this is something which we would need to rule out.
Please see a physician and get a chest Xray done.

dear violet.takacs, welcome to hcm.
I would suggest you to kindly note the colour, consistency of the sputum(phlegm), for it sometimes clinches the diagnosis in few cases per se. I would also suggest you to do salt water gargling 4-6 times daily, minimum for a better relief of ur symptoms to rule out if the attacks r due to a throat infection. and kindly use boiled and cooled water for drinking purpose (please let the water to cool in the same vessel in which the water is boiled).
and if it still persists, please get the sputum tested for TB and get an Xray of your chest done only after getting urself examined by a registered medical practitioner.

Welcome to health care magic forum,
cough at alternate day and continue since long is more prone to be allergic. it may be due to pneumonia. but there is a less chance as pneumonia was before 2 years.
allopathic medicine are very good in emergency while homeopathic medicine are best in chronic long lasting diseases.
allergy is best treated and permanently cured by homeopathy. so consult classical homeopath.
