What Could Be The Rash That Does Not Itch That Is On The Neck For Several Years?
I have had a redness (not raised rash) on my neck for a number of years. It doesn't itch and only gets more red when I have been in the shower or if it gets cold. Only thing that bothers me is the look, and people keep asking me what I have. I am 55 yrs old. It doesn't sound like rosacea from what I've read. What so you think????
Hi and thank you so much for trusting us with your health query.
I am so sorry to hear about this rash. from the information you have provided this would most likely be a vascular malformation. The change in color with temperature narrowly mimics the changes in blood flow to superficial vessels following these changes. There is for real no need to pursue aggressive management but if you would want to get it off, then maybe you would need to get laser ablation therapy. This is really not needed unless you feel so uncomfortable with this lesion.
I hope you find this helpful. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and please do feel free to ask for clarifications or more information if need be. Dr. Ditah, MD.
