What Could Be The Reason For Having Red Pimple Like Spots On My Labia Major?

Hello A few days ago these little red pimple like spots appeared on my labia major and kind of the cheek of my buttocks. They re not sore unless I apply pressure to them and they don t either. Some have an indent in them and kind of a scab as if they re healing. I m pretty sure it was due to rough shaving? I am sexually active with my boyfriend of two years he does not have HSV2 but he does get the odd few cold sores on his mouth I ve never been affected by them. What do you think these are?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are suggestive of folliculitis most likely due to irritation from shaving. This will subside on its own. Keep area clean and dry. Use moisturizer. Avoid shaving and instead, use hair removal creams after the symptoms subside.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
