What Could Be The Reason For Having Throat Pain While Swallowing?

Discomfort in throat at base of neck, right above where clavicle bones meet. Sensitive to touch and pain felt at base of neck between clavicle bones when swallowing. Duration 2 days now. Healthy, active, 26 y.o., vegetarian. What is the pain coming from?

Hi. what are the other symptoms or findings? The pain at the spot you described could have been due to swelling of the esophagus in this part due to acid reflux so causing the pain at swallowing. Other probable reason could have been swelling of the nearby structures like thyroid , trachea, may be a painful small lymph node. It would have been more helpful for me to know your associated findings too.
