What Could Be The Reason For Painful And Swollen Lymph Node Under Jaw Line And How Can We Treat It ?
Good day, Kindly assist advising accordingly. I have in the past 3 days noticed inflamation and developement of painful and swollen lymph node (looks and feels like a boil , but is not pointed) under my right jaw line (closer to the chin area). I do not have any fever or sore throat. Im 25years of age. I have in the past suffered with acute acne, however my skin has cleared up pretty well since. i do have eczema which still bothers me from time to time. Please advise what could be done to treat these newly develped nodes and what could it have been caused by?

your condition is a normal finding many healthy persons and it is called submental and submandibular lymphadenitis, in your case it is probably due to the acne or the eczema which is a chronic inflammation causing the lymphadenitis
control of the trigerring acne / eczema would gradually decrease the size
kindly consult a Dermatologist
Hi there,
A swelling in that region could indicate many things like lymph node, abscess, boil etc. From the location of the swelling, it could be a submental/submandibular lymph node enlargement also. I would like to know if you had TB in the past or chronic cough for more than 2 weeks. Any toothache/dental caries recently?
It is better to consult a physician who can examine the swelling.
Have a nice day :)
Lymph Nodes becomes swollen when there is some kind of infection in their catchment area. If these do not respond to simple antibiotics & anti inflammatory, F.N.A.C. test is required. Please consult an E.N.T. specialist.
