What Could Be The Reason For Swelling, Pain In Finger When Pressed?

Uh... My finger is swollen, i can't exactly tell you when it happened but it's swollen and it hurts on the bottom of the finger and the left side of it. I can still bend it without feeling pain but i can't really press on the bottom of it or the side. It's not a sharp pain where i would start crying or anything but you can tell that it hurts. Like there is a lot of pressure. My dad tells me i'm a wimp and keeps trying to flick it and my grandfather keeps telling me i'm going to lose my finger then my hand and eventually die. Which isn't helping. I've never had this before and I can't really say how I got it because i don't know . I got a cut on my finger and that's about all the damage i see and i usually will rip off pieces of skin if they're coming off. Help?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello

I have studied you case.
According to your history some differential can be given in you case.

Most likely it can be lipoma, which are soft and with some mobility, may reoccur after excision.

Another differential can be
Ganglions -They are cystic swellings that are closely connected to joint or tendon sheaths and contain mucinous material. Excision of these tissue can lead to recurrence.

Do some blood investigation like CBC, CRP, and ESR to know reactivation of disease.
There is also possibility of cellulitis of finger.
A clinical photo if you can send then we can help in more better way.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.
