What Could Be The Red Patches On Arms Followed By Fever?
Good day doctor. A few days ago I had high fever, accompanied by red patches all over my body. The patches were not itchy and not raised, nor warm to touch. I was able to combat through the fever and was okay for the past two days. But this morning when I woke up, the red patches re-appeared (actually they concentrated on my hands earlier) and now had spread onto my arms.
Symptomatic management involves: 1. Analgesic anti-pyretic agents like Paracetamol. 2. Anti biotics like Doxycycline preparations. 3. Anti histamine preparations & Calamine lotion for symptomatic relief of patches. 4. Maintain adequate hydration & proper nutrition.
If there is no relief even after 02 days, you need to get certain investigations like complete blood count, urine examination, peripheral smear for malaria, Dengue check, blood culture & Weil felix test. These investigations will be helpful in detecting the pathological cause & formulating further plan of management.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
