What Could Be The Small Lump On Temple Which Is Painful After Pressing?

Hi, I noticed a small lump, slightly larger than a pea, on my left temple yesterday. It hurts to press and the entire area is tender. I have had increased headaches lately, though I'm prone to headaches so that could be unrelated. What could it be and should I see a gp? Thanks.

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Seems to be a bacterial infection.. since its painful red and tender.

I usually ask my patients to take a week of oral antibiotic like the one from the penicillin or cephalosporin group.

Topical antibacterial ointment like mupirocin 2% would help in faster resolution.

An OTC painkiller like ibuprofen will help you with the pain part.

take care
regards
