What Could Bleeding Between Periods Post Intake Of I Pill Indicate?

Hello Doctor , I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend on the very last day of her period .. We hadn t realized it was her last day as she had stopped bleeding but later that night we notice she was still on her last day ..I didn t ejaculate in her while having unprotected sex .. Half way through we put on a condom .. For the first time she had an Ipill in less than 24 hours ( maybe in like 12-18 hours ) . All was fine and we had protected and safe sex after that .. No ejaculation anywhere near her .. Exactly 7 days from then .. That is today .. She is getting some kind of bleeding .. As she describes like her periods .. Here are my queries 1) is this a cause for worry ? 2) now when should we expect her next period as she usually gets it in the first 3 days of the month .. By how long can it be delayed ? 3) is taking the Ipill within 24 hours safe ? 4) can this be spotting due to pregnancy ? I m a little bit tensed if she could be pregnant or not .. Please advice me on what I should ask her to do next ..

It appears that you are unnecessarily worried and you need be. Relax. What you have done is right thing.
i pill is an emergency contraceptive pill. It needs to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. Earlier it is taken, better it would be to have its effect in preventing pregnancy.
Irrespective of periods, when it is taken, the pill produces breakthrough bleeding just like periods within 3 weeks of its intake. Most of the time it happens within a week from the day of intake of pill. What your partner is experiencing is same like what should have happened.
Next cycle would happen as previous regular cycles, after about 25 - 28 days.
