Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. Thank you for your question. Sight unseen, it is difficult to diagnose a pediatric rash. Most common diagnosis is caused by a virus. In this case, the rash worsens for several days and can last 2-3 weeks before resolving. Another possibility is hives. This type of rash is typically caused by a reaction to something either ingested, or something that came in contact with the skin. This rash can also last up to 2 weeks before resolving. There are others, but none of them serious. If you've noticed that the rash is beginning to resolve, I wouldn't be concerned. If it returns or worsens, I recommend consulting with your doctor so the correct diagnosis can be made.
