What Could Cause Burning, Pulling Pain Near Belly Button After Having Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy?
Had a laparoscopic cholecystectomy 2 and a half weeks back. My clips are taken and healed already. I still have pain on the right side of my belly button which increases my kneeling down or when its touched and sometimes while sleeping on the side. It is like a pulling or burning pain. When i apply pressure over that part with my fingers pain does aggrevate. It feels superficial. But i do want to know what could be possibly creating it. Apart from that thankfully my digestion is good and i don't seem to have other problems. Kindly help
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. The pain near the belly button two and half weeks after laparoscopic cholecystectomy without any other problems and with local tenderness can be due to the following reasons: Hematoma formation that has not resolved. Local stitch abscess. This can be diagnosed by the following ways. Get a high resolution ultrasonography and get the correct diagnosis by consulting the operating Surgeon so that the diagnosis well made and the problem treated accordingly. You may need a small course of an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory medication. If this does not resolve the problem then you may need a local infiltration anesthesia and exploration to remove the cause and get well soon.
