What Could Cause Constant Dull Pain In Abdomen With History Of Renal Stone, Non Cancerous Polyp In Rectum?

Im a 48 1/2 yr old female experiencing dull pain at the right side belly button which feels worse about 30 minutes after eating. I feel almost all the time. I moticed it about 6 weeks ago but feels worse now. My right ovary was removed 7 years ago during a complete hysterectomy, although the left ovary remains. I went to a doctor who took an abdominal x-ray and blood work and found that my appendix looked normal, and no elevated white blood cell count, although he did find a renal stone that has since passed. I had my last colonoscopy 3 years ago with only a non-cancerous polyp found in the rectum. Im very concered, to the point of not eating. Can you help me, please? Thank you.

Hi,

If your appendix was fine and no elevated white blood cell count, then, the pain you are experiencing might be related to:

- stones/crystal in kidney/ureters
- uro-genital infection
- colitis

I sugest to run further tests including:
- abdominal ultrasound
- urine analysis
- vaginal swab testing and pap smear
- repeat colonoscopy
- do fecal occult blood testing

to further evaluate your condition. Depending on the test results, the most appropriate treatment will be prescribed.

Meanwhile, I advise to:
- eat often and small portions
- avoid gas-forming foods (beans, cabbage,etc)
- do not lay down immediately after eating
- drink more water
- be more physically active
- take oral otc probiotics to optimize GI flora

Hope it was of help!

Hi.
This looks to be due to acid peptic disease. The pain increasing 30 minutes after food. I hope the upper GI Endoscopy will diagnose and guide for further treatment.
