Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my aunt s CT report states biopsy proven ADENOCARCINIMIA of rectum involving the ANAL CANAL. present scan shows Heterogenously enhancing asynnetircal wall thickening involving distal rectum and a anal canal with extensions as detailed. right renal simple cortical cyst kindly advise whether she can be treated through Chemo or Radiation or surgery is a must
The report shows that there is a mass in the lower part of your bowel called rectum. According to the report this mass has already been examined with biopsy and proven to be a malignant one (cancer).
The CT scan in this case has aimed to see if there are other masses in the abdominal area and if here are lymphnodes and by the information you have given us i don't see that there is mentioned any other mass or lymphnodes to be present which is a very good thing as it shows that we have no evidence that the tumor has spread. The cyst in the kidney is a very common finding and not of any concern so do not worry about it.
I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
