What Could Cause Dark Bruises Under Eyes And On Cheek Bones?

I have a dime sized flat bruise/darkening straight under each of my eyes but located more on each cheekbone . I thought it might be sinus related. I have always seemed to have a lack of smell, and some achy sinuses here and there but no allegies that I know of. Any ideas on what the discoloration is due to?
