What Could Cause Dark, Flaky Spots Below Eyes And Eye Brow And How To Treat This?
i have had this skin problem for 4 years now. Showed a few doctors but nothing helped. I have small spots on my face, that have dry flaky skin and they turn dark. I have them mostly around my eyes, under my brows and on the sides of the eyes and one on my chin. What is this condition called? and how can I get rid of it?
I can understand the concern for dark, flaky spots below eyes and eye brow. You have not mentioned your age, occupation and any relevant history which could have guided us to the nearest possibility.
After reading your history it appears that you might have either simple angiomas or trichoepithelioma. To confirm the same either you can post a good resolution picture to us at: bit.ly/drsanjaykanodia or you can meet a dermatologist who will guide you properly.
I advise you to not pinch or pop the area otherwise these areas are very prone for getting more pigmented.
For time being period you can apply lightening agents such as Kojic acid or azelaic acid cream application which you can use under dermatological guidance. Hydroquinone can also be used but in my series of patients I prefer using Kojic acid or azelaic acid cream.
Hello, Thank you for posting on HCM and i appreciate your concern for the spots all over face. Since you havent mentioned any relevant history like age, sun exposure, any symptoms, family history, etc., it is very difficult to reach definitive diagnosis without proper physical examination. Anyways from your description, in my opinion you are sufferring from a common conditon called 'Seborrheic keratoses' which are nothing but collection of skin cells due to various factors like age, sunlight etc. These are usually harmless medically and are treated mostly for cosmetic concerns. The best treatment would be to get them cauterized(A little spark of current is used to selectively destroy affected tissue)from your nearby dermatologist. For prevention of the same you should follow strict sun protection by avoiding excessive outdoor activities in sun, use of protective caps/hats and use of broadspectrum sunscreen lotion(SPF 30 or higher) every time before going out in sun.
