Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, Thank you for answering my question. On Friday night I went out for a drink with few friends. I had a glass of wine and dinner, 2 hours later we were standing outisde the restaurant and were talking to each other, then I suddenly collapsed and fainted outside the restaurant. I am not sure if it was because I was on a empty stomach?
Hello You fainted 2 hours after wine and dinner ? Your idea and mentioned in the query that fainting was due to empty stomach ? One side you took dinner and wine on another side mentioned that you were on empty stomach . Ambiguous history , please clear it. Faintness may be due to intoxication by wine or due to hypotension or hypertension , so without detail report it is very difficult to establish any diagnosis . Hyperglycemia may be one cause ( in your case hypoglycemia ,not a cause because you had dinner ) . Anemia may be the another reason. In my opinion consult a physician and get his opinion as physical examination will find the exact cause. Good luck.
