What Could Cause Feeling Of Light Headness And A Numb Feeling In The Tongue?
my husband at least twice a week gets a feeling of lightheadedness and his tongue become warm and then numb. he has seen a neurologist, had mri's which were negative and the neurologist never really gave an answer as to what this might be. he was driving the other day had an episode and had to pull over because he was afraid to drive. what could this be?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have feeling of light headness and a numb feeling in the tongue .The symptoms you mention in query are probably due to nerve dysfunction . Sometimes nerves like glossopharyngeal nerve get injured or pinched during dental procedure and due to any other reason like ear infection , sinusitis or upper respiratory track infection will cause such symptoms . But there can be other reasons also like canker sore , dry mouth (xerostomia) , side effects of any medicine or diabetic neuropathy . I would suggest you to consult oral surgeon for proper examination and to rule out above conditions . Doctor may prescribe medicine which has anti inflammatory effect on nerves and supplement like neurobion forte . For now maintain proper oral hygiene , do warm saline gargles and rinses , also avoid bending forward.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
