What Could Cause Fluctuating Blood Pressure (175/64 To 190/55-65) Despite Taking Metoprolol And Being Physical Active?
Hi-I can't seem to keep my blood pressure at a normal level. It's running between 175/64 to 190/55 to 65. Am taking 100 MG Metoprolol in the morning and the same at night. Also taking 5mg I am 73 years old , female, 4'10 and weigh 130 lbs. Am very active and run at high speed all the time. Am also taking 0.5 MG Alprazolam for anxiety as needed, usually at night to sleep.
Hi, I read your query and understood your concern.
The fluctuating BP is probably due to the fact that you are taking only betablockers which in most of the cases is inefficient to stabilize BP.
So i recommend to talk with your doctor to add other pills to stabilize your BP in order to low it If i was your doctor i would suggest HCTZ and ACE-i.
Hope i answered to your query. Dr. Sonila
