i have had a ureter stent fitted about a month ago and it will be removed on monday, today i am having quite a bit of pain and i have noticed some blood in my urine today. should i be alarmed? also when i have it removed how long will it take and will it hurt?
Hi It is common to get recurrent bouts of pain and some blood in urine due to stent. However since you are scheduled to have it removed, please make sure you do not have an UTI and hence please visit your doctor for urine testing and if there are notrites in urine then get get some antibiotics)
The stent removal procedure itself takes about 5-10 minutes. It should hurt very slightly.
