What Could Cause Intense Muscular Pain In Arms After Carrying Heavy Items?
While carrying around my son or daughter the past few weeks when walking through a mall, park, home, and visiting family. If for an extended period of time my left or right arm muscles tenses up and or locks in place often making it difficult to move them. Can you provide me with a few reasons why this would occur? I will be making an appointment with my PCP but I would like a brief description now if possible, please.
When carrying heavy loads, the arms' nerves get stretched apart from compression over them by the shoulder joint. This leads to transient numbing -and consequently, deranged function- of these nerves, which, in turn, cause muscle cramps, numbness and tingling sensation in the concerned arm. Everything is restored to normal once the nerves recover.
Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me, order required tests, and- based on the reports- will prescribe suitable/modified treatment as advised.
