Looking at your complains that is feeling of knot in the throat suggests the possibility of Granular Pharyngitis. It is inflammation in your throat with Granulations.Granulations are reddish nodules seen in the throat, they are a part of inflammation.
Your doctor has prescribed you Erythromycin(an Antibiotic) and Ibuprofen(Analgesic and Anti-inflammatory).Continue with these medicines.
You should also take Antacid(like Rantac),Antihistaminic(like Cetrizine) and Vitamin C lozenges along with the above medicines.
Do warm saline gargles.Drink lots of fluids(warm).Avoid cold, spicy and oily food.Avoid dust, smoke and other pollutants.Drinking hot tea with lemon, ginger and honey will also give you relief.Drink warm turmeric milk as turmeric has anti-inflammatory actions.
